Pruning

What about pruning?

Most deciduous fruit trees, and all pecan trees are pruned, free of charge, prior to shipping. Texas A&M recommends 1/3 pruning of trees. Other trees, shrubs, bulbs, perennials, etc. may be pruned as deemed necessary by the shipping manager, to facilitate the most efficient method of delivery and to insure the most favorable survivability.

Return Policy

Do we offer refunds?

No, we do not. We offer replacements of unsatisfactory plants only.

How do I return a plant that dies within the first year?

Our nursery stock cannot be returned without the express written permission of TyTy Nursery. In all cases goods cannot be returned after they have been accepted, processed, improperly stored, planted, or otherwise treated, modified or used in any way. Before returning dead plants for replacement, the following season, customer must fill out the RA (Return Authorization) application on the order form and mail it to us so we can review it. The RA application can only be returned to TyTy Nursery, postmarked by mail, to P.O. Box 130, TyTy, GA 31795 in the period Sept 15, 2008 until Oct 31, 2008, so that each plant is given a proper and fair chance for survival and growth. Within 30 days after TyTy receives and evaluates your RA application, TyTy will mail an RA number to you which you should write the RA number on the label of the box that you return the dead plants along with 25% of the plant cost (minimum $20.00) to cover the shipping cost for UPS to return your replacement plant. The plants returned must be returned complete, not shredded, separated roots or in broken pieces, so that we can analyze the cause of the plant death and minimize future losses. If the RA application is approved and the plant return procedure is properly followed, we will begin shipping plant replacements on Dec 15, 2008.

What happens if my plants arrive damaged?

Nursery stock is perishable. All shipments should be immediately and carefully unpacked and inspected on arrival and then placed in proper storage if not planted within 30 days. Any problems with the condition or quality or quantity of goods received should be brought to our attention immediately. In the rare event that you should receive a package from one of our carriers that is obviously damaged in delivery, please report to the carrier the damaged package and refuse delivery, then call us to inform us of the problem, and we will promptly ship you a replacement order.

Shipping

Do we ship bare root or in containers?

All plants are shipped bare root, unless special arrangements have been made prior to shipping. Container grown plants are removed from the pots with most of the soil removed and shipped, are bare root. All plant roots are treated with a moisture gel, "Terrasorb", and carefully packaged for delivery. Shipping charges are 25% (15% postage - 10% packaging) of the total order, unless you request plants to be shipped in the containers, which will greatly increase shipping cost.

Do we ship internationally?

Yes, we ship internationally. We have a minimum order of $5000 before we ship internationally and shipping cost is 40% of the total order. An additional cost of $50 is needed to get a phytosanitary certificate. However, please be aware after we ship an item internationally the U.S. Department of Agriculture has the right to quarantine any plants they see fit, to grow them first, in a controlled location before releasing them to the original addressee to verify they are in good condition. Quarantines do not usually happen so it is not common for that to happen but it is always a possibility. Before we ship our plants internationally we do have them inspected by our local agricultural department to make sure they are free of any type of disease or pest.

How long are the plants packaged to live during shipping?

We package our plants to last during shipment for 30 days. We wrap the plants in silicon plastic and use a silicon moisturizing gel called "Terra-Sorb" to keep the plants moist so they will not dry out during shipment. We ship all of our plants bare root and have been doing it that way for many years to cut back on shipping cost. To avoid the loss of your plant, it is strongly advised to plant it immediately after arrival.

How long does it take to receive an order?

Depending on the season and if an item is in stock it normally takes 7-10 business days to receive an order. Please allow up to two weeks for delivery in our busy season between December through April. Some items may be delivered and received in a couple of days depending on the location, so please be patient with us for we ship to thousands of people each day and packaging and processing does take time and since we value our customers alot we do our very best to get orders shipped as soon as possible.

What if the plant leaves are faded or have fallen off during shipment?

If your leaves have faded in color of have fallen off during shipment don't be alarmed because that is normal through transit. Plants occasionally go through a transplant shock but will revive as soon as they are replanted in there new location. Make sure though they are only kept watered and not fertilized at all until after the first year of planting.

What is the shipping cost?

Shipping cost is 25% of the total order. For example if an item is $100, shipping will be $25.00

What is your shipping season?

Our bare root shipping season stretches from December 15th to April 15th.
