Tested exclusively at the USDA station in Philema, Ga., this pecan is elliptical in shape and large in size, shelling out to a whopping 56% kernel that is a bright golden color with excellent shelling characteristics.

The Caddo Pecan tree produces a papershell pecan that easily shells out, mostly in halves.

Pecan tarts are very popular as a dessert item for Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday festivities.

Because the Caddo pecan shells out into perfect halves it is a very popular nut when toasted, salted or roasted and the aroma of the toasted pecans is very distinctive as well as the flavor.

The Caddo pecan tree variety was recommended in 1990 for commercial plantings in AR, LA and TX.

Paw Paw Tree (Spring)

Paw Paw trees are native plants found in the United States by early American explorers. Sliced chilled Paw Paws became the favorite dessert of Thomas Jefferson, and President Jefferson and George Washington established their own Paw Paw orchards at Monticello and Mount Vernon, VA. Buy bearing size nursery grown Paw Paw plants from TyTy for Fall shipment.

Arbequina

Try planting nursery grown, grafted olive trees that can bear fresh olives the first year for table eating quality. In Northern states the olive trees can be containerized and grown near an entrance or planted in pots near the pool for that tropical flair, and in Winter just move your olive trees indoors and eat tasty olives all Winter. The olive oil produced from pressing Arbequina olives is of a high quality and a fruity musky flavor but rather unstable with a short shelf life in some cases.
