The unusual Bulbisperm 'Carnival' Crinum Lily bulb species produces flowers that successively open in varying colors such as white, pink, red, and striped, all colors occurring on the same stem.


The pattern of the Bulbisperm 'Carnival' Crinum Lily bulb was first noticed and described in Herbertia by Dr. Thad Howard, who noticed that an inbred form of bulbispermum, when crossed produced an offspring called 'Carnival,' however this varying color stabilized after a few generations and became deep pink.
