Voodoo Lily [Amorphophallus bulbifer]


One of the freaky plants of nature exhibiting a strange reproductive capacity. Little warts appear in the leaf axils that grow into bulbs that can be planted to rapidly multiply your plants.


The Voodoo Lily Flowering Bulbs grow large. The mother bulb also grows larger each year, forming plants 5 to 6 feet tall with thick fleshy stems that are white with gray-green random spotting much like that found on reptiles. The Voodoo Lily Flowering Bulb plant is cold hardy to 0*F and is easy to grow.

The flowers of these plants generally are shaped like mammoth tulips with a hotdog-like tube inserted in the center. The flowers generally appear during the winter, if the bulbs are lifted and placed on a dry shelf, but the blooms generally appear unseen beneath the dense leaves if left outside to grow.
