Alphonse Karr Bamboo

• Alphonse Karr, Bambusa multiplex, bamboo grows variegated, bright yellow stalks with green pin-stripes. Alphonse Karr grows fast to 1 -2 inches in diameter, and poles up to 50 feet tall. Once the canes start sprouting in April, the bamboo rapidly forms dense clumps with watering, and the leaves of the Alphonse Karr bamboo develop rapidly once the pointed shoot emerges from the ground. Alphonse Karr striped bamboo was named in honor of the French botanist-novelist, of the nineteenth century, who admired this beautiful specimen plant of striped bamboo.

All clumps are pruned short (less than 1ft) to allow for the safest possible shipping. The number of stalks can not be guaranteed per clump, and are approximations, some clumps may arrive with dormant eyes that have not produced stalks yet.

Delivery Time: Bamboo Plants are shipped October through May and should ship within ten business days from when the order was placed. The actual delivery time will usually be within four to seven days following the date of shipping by Ty Ty Plant Nursery. Shipping Method: UPS Ground and Motor Freight if the proper arrangements have been made by the customer prior to shipping. Shipping costs do apply on Motor Freight shipments, not covered by any sales promotions.
