The Bluejack Oak, Quercus incana, is a deciduous tree in the red oak group that is native to the Southeastern part of the United States ranging north to Virginia, and South to Florida, West to Southeast Oklahoma and then to Texas. The waxy leaves mature to a blue-green color for which the tree is named. Often the Bluejack Oak develops multiple trunks like a shrub but can also grow 30 feet in height with a 6 inch trunk at the base. The Bluejack Oak produces an enormous number of acorns which promotes wildlife nesting.
