Cercis reniformis 'Oklahoma. This deciduous flowering tree is native to the States of Oklahoma and parts of Texas, and the trees are cold hardy from zone 6A to 9A. At maturity this redbud tree grows 30 to 40 feet tall, and then, one-half as wide. The heart-shaped, deep green leaves grow 3 inches wide that turn brilliant yellow in the fall. The pink to red flowers grow in densely packed clusters that are scattered up and down the trunk, branches and twigs. The beautiful flowers are followed by unique purple seedpods that remain on the trees until winter.
