The Shawnee thorny blackberry was hybridized at the University of Arkansas research grounds and extensively tested there for many years that has resulted in the hybridization and release to the public of a highly successful commercial berry and at maturity, bushes that are highly productive for a pick-your-own blackberry operation. The ripening of the Shawnee blackberry starts in mid-June and has shown no unsolvable problems with blackberry diseases. The Shawnee thorny blackberry bush grows strong erect canes that multiply vigorously, and the berries are richly sweet with a balance in flavor of acid and sugar. The long bearing period of five weeks during June and July is a characteristic valuable to pick-your-own orchards, offering a fresh supply of tasty berries from the thorny Shawnee Blackberry bushes. The extreme cold hardiness of the thorny Shawnee blackberry makes it perfect for growing in most Eastern states.

Delivery Time: Blackberry and Raspberry bushes are shipped dormant usually December through May, weather dependent, shipping within ten business days from when the order was placed, while in the current shipping season. The actual delivery time will usually be within four to seven days following the date of shipping by Ty Ty Plant Nursery. Delivery time can not be guaranteed, if a package needs to arrive prior to a specific date please note in the comment section of the order or contact Ty Ty Nursery by telephone during normal business hours.

Shipping Method: UPS Ground and Motor Freight if the proper arrangements have been made by the customer prior to shipping. Shipping costs do apply on Motor Freight shipments, not covered by any sales promotions.
